Do you need a trust, or just a will?

A will is a set of instructions that goes through probate. A revocable trust holds your assets so they pass without a court process. Both are valid. The question is which one fits.

If you own a home in Massachusetts, a trust often saves your family months and several thousand dollars in probate costs. If you rent, have modest accounts with named beneficiaries, and no complications, a will package is usually enough.

We quote both as flat fees and tell you which one we would choose in your position. About half of our clients end up with the simpler option.
